This year in Sunday school we will be studying the Book of Mormon. Every four years this book of scripture gets its turn. This book of scripture is the keystone of Mormonism and a personal focus of mine. I will be providing thoughts throughout the year with the goal of better understanding the scripture. The truth contained within the Book of Mormon is often riddled with religious, cultural or personal bias. The author Mormon; however, was not subject to these biases when he compiled the book as he saw our day.
The goal of this blog is to read the Book of Mormon as authentically as possible without pretensions and presumptions. The Book of Mormon will stand on its own during this study. It will not be a supporting cast member or a co-star. The definitions, topics, discussions, and doctrine contained in the scripture will be read as-if they are alone.
This blog represents the thoughts and opinions of one person. It will hopefully ignite reflection and pondering, but it is only be viewed as someone’s opinion.
